This is the week of the year that Stillwaters Estates decorates for Christmas and sparkles in the now freezing cold weather. The Gathering Place gets decorated for the many holiday events and the streetlights and poles are “beribboned” as well.
With a few days off over the Thanksgiving weekend I got inspired and for the first time in years I put out ALL my Christmas decorations! In years past I have been known to get out the Nutcrackers, Santas and the Christmas tree and call it good. This year I just kept going – I put on the Christmas music and explored every one of those decoration boxes lurking in the garage and attic.
Like so many people, I have ornaments in my artillery from my childhood, from travels and loving gifts from family and friends. I enjoyed rediscovering each one as I unpacked the boxes. What great memories to savor on an afternoon of Christmas carols and chilly weather!
Mr. Blogger did a masterful job of scoping out the light situation on the outside of the house and soon our house was tastefully lit for the season. We are even experimenting with a little string of solar powered lights in our front yard…good thing it doesn’t need much sunlight to power those little lights!
Enjoy the lights and sounds of the season!
Quote of the Week:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.
